St. Andrew the Fisherman Episcopal Church We are a welcoming congregation in the Mayo/Edgewater area in Maryland. No matter who you are or where you come from, you are welcome to worship with us.
Welcoming Children Jesus calls us to enter God's Kingdom as little children. Children remind us of the life of simple faith and trust in God that Jesus calls us all to live. At St. Andrew the Fisherman, children are welcome to worship and serve in all services, and encouraged to receive Holy Communion with their families.
Diverse Worship Our liturgy follows ancient patterns of worship expressed in ways that enable 21st Century people to experience the beauty of God's holiness and the comfort of God's indwelling Spirit.
Church Family Our Church family hopes to emulate St. Andrew, inviting our friends and relatives to come with us as we become fully-committed followers of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Stillness and Peace Our peaceful atmosphere invites people to quiet prayer and contemplation.
Sunday Masses Our worship of Jesus Christ is centered in His presence in Word and Sacrament. We gather at the altar to be nurtured by the Body and Blood of Christ and empowered to be Christ's presence in the world. All baptized Christians are welcome to receive the Blessed Sacrament.
Contemplative Spirituality Come away from the business of life and rest a while in God's peace. Contemplative prayer services are offered on Wednesday nights, on the 1st Wednesday (with Eucharist) and 3rd Wednesday of the month.
True Catholicity We are part of the One Holy and Catholic Apostolic Church and follow the ancient Creeds, and yet we make space for people who are questioning their beliefs. We believe that faithful Christians can have different opinions in some matters of faith and we are called to live in charity with those who disagree with us.
A Place to Belong There are no strangers here; only friends who haven't met. If you are looking for an intimate community of love and support, you are welcome to join us as together we strive to follow Christ.
